Summer Sale at Sur La Table

Anyone who knows me know I love a sale, I blame my mom! Sur la Table is having their amazing summer sale right now. Here are a few treasures I found. Starting with the Mexican Glass double old fashions that we were drinking out of in Cabo, can you believe they are less expensive here!?!
Given my strange love lately for birds and chickens I am very tempted by these cute salt and pepper shakers on sale for $7.99. Fortunately I have an amazing salt & pepper mill set that I received as a wedding gift from Matt's Aunt and Uncle.
I love bake ware that is pretty enough to go straight to the table, less dishes to wash. These wavy bakers are gorgeous in green or red and a steal at $14.99.
I prefer to use flour sack towels in my kitchen, flour sack towels can be used to pat food dry with out leaving lint. I love these Italian colors & cities! A cute set of towels also make a great emergency hostess gift. At $4.99 for a set of 4 you can't go wrong.
Finally even not on sale, I will have to check out this French Poodle Apron for my niece Lily, she isn't even two yet, but I just know she is going to want to hang in the kitchen with her Aunt Jessie! Have fun shopping, let me know what you pick up.

Helpful tools for your cucina on sale

Sur la table is one of my favorite kitchen stores & they are having a great sale. Below I have listed some tools that I have in my kitchen and while they are not necessary, they make my life easier!

A stainless steel meat pounder will help you to make your chicken breasts an even thickness for better cooking.

An over sized non slotted turner is better for flipping eggs & omelets.

Having a cheese board pretty enough to serve off, means you have one less dish to wash.

If you have a non stick bundt cake pan, even if you only have time to make a cake from a box, you can sprinkle some powdered sugar on top & voila great presentation!

Here are a few great sale items from Crate and Barrel:

Silicone Basting brushes mean you can baste your meats & not carry germs in your tools.

Having a cheese slicer will save you a lot of cash in the long run, plus it makes really thin slices which are better for hors d'oeuvres!

As I see great kitchen sale items I will share! Happy cooking. :)

Great Bread Basket

I have a bread basket just like this. I got it years ago as a gift & it is one of my favorite serving pieces. When it is not being used for bread, I leave it on my counter with fruit in it. It is really easy to use & functional too. Place the basket in a 350°F oven for a three minutes; carefully remove and line it with a cloth napkin before filling with warm bread. The thick base will continue to gently radiate heat keeping your bread warm. Genius right? Here is the best part, it is on sale at Williams Sonoma.
